Dearest Lord,
Thank you for a fruitful week at home. As always, I did enjoy my dishwashing chore. And since I noticed the other day that there were too many items in our kitchen (in all cabinets, inside the refrigerator, and on top of the kitchen island), thank you Lord for reminding me to check them all. As it turns out, so many items were already expired. We are sorry, Lord, for wasting so many blessings that you gave us throughout the years. Some items whose "Best Before" date fell within the last 3 months, i grouped them together so that we can consume them as soon as possible and serve it also to our workers. But most items had to go to the trash.
I thank you again, Lord, for showing me that communities have already improved in protecting their environment as the people are more conscious now of segregating their garbage. Although motivated by money, as sardine cans and tomato cans can be sold again, You o Lord have started to instill in the minds of people that recycling can help a lot economically, for both the people and the government. I continue to pray, Lord Jesus, that the seed you have planted in them (in us) will further grow and will not falter.
Lord, thank you for reminding us to prepare for the Christmas season, as Lynmer's wedding will be celebrated here in Abra (and a day after Luanne's). Although I have no work, thank you for allowing me to help in his wedding preparations. I almost forgot the promise Eon and I made last September that we can take care of the invitations. And so, we are tasked to handle the invitations. Our wedding present to our beloved cousin. Although the pressure is more on me as it is the girl who should be more meticulous in terms of design, function and budget. As for the preparations at home, thank you Father God for reminding me that we can contact kuya Aldrin and ate Ly to know what food and drinks do the kids eat and drink. The grownups are easy to handle anyway.
Thank you, Jesus, for all the gifts you have given. May I seek the Giver more than the gifts.
Always,
Grace
Dear friend, how is your time with the people who mean the most to you... your family? I hope you are spending time with them and making the most of that precious moments. If work is the reason why you do not spend so much time with your family, I learned from a speaker who is a financial analyst that our motivation for amassing wealth should be love. We earn so that we can take care of ourselves and our loved ones, one way of showing our love to them. But the gifts you lavish on them is nothing compared to your presence... nothing compared to your genuine love and concern. As we seek the Giver more than the gifts He gives, let us do the same for our loved ones... let us give them our attention, love and care amidst the worldly distractions. You are not alone in this, let us do this together, okay? Be with your family at least once a month (you can do it more than once you know), I will be with mine also. God bless you, my friend. Shalom.
Thanking God: Saying Grace
"For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer." (1 Timothy 4:4-5).

Serving others, loving You
Father God,
I thank You for reminding me to be a servant leader, serving others with humility and love. Thank You, Lord, that while I have no work, I am able to spend time and serve my family.
Luanne's wedding is this December. And she just decided to get married last July. Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to help her in her wedding preparations. It gave me a good idea of what readings I would want to listen and reflect on my own wedding and how simple I want mine to be... if it is Your will. Thank you for the gift of patience, as I help in proofreading the invitation and in creating the map that would help her guests get to the venue. Thank You, Lord, for the skills you have blessed me with... being an analyst is very helpful when you have to think from the perspective of the user (or guests, in this matter). Thank You that our internet connection has not failed us yet, for it allows me to communicate with Luanne and her supplier.
Today is also election day. I thank you, Jesus, for giving me this opportunity to exercise my right to vote. Although I do not personally know the people that I voted for, I trust my mom on the people she chose to support. Voting is not really a daunting task. In fact, it is a privilege. And I thank you again for the experience. I hope that those who win will contribute something positive to their baranggays. I also hope, Lord, that my cousin Em will remain humble and good as he now joins his father in politics by being a part of SK.
Thank you, Father God, that we have no helper in the house. It allows me to do dishwashing after meals, which is therapeutic for me. Give me the grace to continue cleaning the kitchen as there are so many items that needs to be checked and consumed soon or else they become classified as "wasted". Thank you for the abundance of food here. I'll be sharing with my family soon on the schedule that I came up for healthy living for a month.
Lastly, I thank you also for Eon has finally finished his legal software. It is a privilege to help him in one of his dreams by introducing the beta release to a few friends. I pray, o Lord, that he will use the marketing material that I prepared for them and that others will see the value of the product.
All these, Lord, I thank you for the opportunity to serve You through others. May our works glorify you, Father God.
Always,
Grace
Dear friend, how are you doing? Despite the distance, I want you to know that I care. While I serve my family in a tangible way, I serve you through prayer and sharing my relationship with God with you. For what is important in this world are our relationships, which is strengthened by our relationship with God. And you know how a relationship is valued? A person values a relationship when the person invests time on it. I pray that you will further invest your time in getting to know the Lord in a more personal way. I admit, it is not easy. I once only gave my excess time to the Lord. But somewhere along the way, I have come to appreciate the time I have invested in getting to know Him and changing my character to further love Him. And I still continue to do so. I pray the same for you. God bless you, my friend. Shalom.

Sweet Home Manabo, Abra
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for bringing me and my brother home safely. It is good to be back again in Abra, despite the long travel and my illness.
I thank You, Father God, for the love of our parents as they went to a certain checkpoint to pick us up and bring us home. Thank you for the bonding time that all four of us had while we were on our way home, catching up with the latest news on family and politics. Some news are funny, some news are alarming. But I know Lord that You have a plan for all of us, may You give us the strength and the desire to follow Your will.
Thank You for allowing me to take part in the birthday celebration of my Auntie Melba. Dinner was delicious and enjoying, because it gave me time to be with my cousins: Lynmer and wifey, Elyner, and Em-em. Thank you Lord for using this time to bring us all together (including our parents) even before the big holiday arrives, we were even able to talk to Top who called from Singapore.
Lastly, Lord, I would like to thank You for pushing me to purchase a never-heard-before movie when my dad asked me to get him some DVDs. Truly Lord, you speak to us in various ways. I was really moved by the movie "Faith like Potatoes", and I will share this Lord to all. It may not be good in terms of cinematography and the acting of the stars, but the story hits home. May you give me the grace to get the book, that I may clearly hear Your word through this inspiring true story. May I be like Angus Buchan, to trust You in Your ways even though logic says otherwise... even though it may hurt... even though negative emotions are raging within.
The condition for a miracle is difficulty. For a great miracle, it is impossibility. (Angus Buchan in the movie Faith Like Potatoes)
Honor and blessings to you, Father God! Lavish is Your grace, faithful are Your ways.
Always,
Grace
Dear friend, have you started with a list of things/events/people that you are thankful for today? I hope you have, even if that list is only in your mind. It's okay, I did that also at first. In time, that list will be plenty. In time, that list will be more meaningful as you come to realize that you are truly blessed. Remember me telling about this movie "Faith like Potatoes"? Look for it at a rental video or buy it, and watch it. And then tell me what you think. God bless you, my friend. Shalom.

My brother's love in Baguio City
Heavenly Father,
I thank you for giving me today with the kind of bread you know I needed. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for:
Always,
Grace
Dear friend, what are you thankful for today? I hope this has inspired you to reflect on the events that took place in your life today that you should be grateful for despite the adversities. No matter how small it is, thank God for it. And you will realize just how blessed you are after all, because God loves you and will never abandon you. God bless you, my friend. Shalom.
I thank you for giving me today with the kind of bread you know I needed. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for:
- My short but sweet visit to Baguio city, an all-expense-paid trip c/o Jomar It has been more than a year since I last visited the city. Although I have already reached my quota in traveling, I thank You for allowing me to travel here with my brother. I thank You all the more for my brother's generosity as this is an all-expense-paid trip.
- Healing my body I have been sick for the past few days from pushing my body beyond its limit with running and traveling. Lord, you indeed are the greatest Healer. Thank you for tangibly taking care of my body as I welcomed the experience of a local massage from North Haven Spa. Their lemongrass tea has soothed my sore throat, and thank you so much for allowing me to consume one teapot of that delicious and soothing liquid.
- Thank you again for the healthy food that I consumed after at O Mai Khan restaurant. The cream of mushroom soup, steamed vegetables and grilled tanique was just the right combination of food that my weak body needed.
- Thank you for the medicine that You have provided when I failed to bring one. And because it was drizzling during the night, You led my brother to hail a cab to bring us to Hotel 45. You reminded my brother that I was sick, so he requested the taxi driver to stop by a drugstore in Session road as he bought the medicine for me while I waited in the taxi. He still went out to enjoy the city, but my brother brought me back to the hotel first before he went out.
- Thank you also for reminding me that I am not alone. After having some trouble with the TV, it finally came to life and you led me to the Disney channel as Shaun the Sheep is being shown on screen, a show that I really appreciate as cable TV is scarcely available to me. After taking the medicine, thank you all the more for the warm and soft welcome of the bed. Thank you for the embrace of sleep, having faith that You are taking care of me even though I was all alone until 3am.
- Again, I thank you Lord for the pizza from Volante that my brother brought back with. I thank You also for the proper breakfast that I ate and for allowing me to help Luanne with her invitation while there is time. Lastly, in terms of healing my body, thank you Father for the luxurious hot bath. I truly appreciate the way You took care of me when I was sick.
- Safe trip from Manila-Baguio City-Ilocos Sur-Abra Although we experienced long delays and a detour in our travel, thank you Jesus for bringing us to our destination safely. I know I have complained and grumbled for waiting for more than an hour given that my body is weak from illness, but thank You for reminding me that the delay is for our safety and not really for my discomfort.
Always,
Grace
